Bathtub grab bars are typically viewed as an accessibility or safety solution for the elderly, but the truth of the matter is that anyone can slip in a bathtub. According to the CDC, falls are a top 10 leading cause of death for all ages, and more than 20,000 people die per year from falling. Naturally, one of the most likely places to fall is in a bathtub/shower because 1) virtually everyone bathes on a regular basis 2) most bathtubs are made from acrylic, which can be slippery when wet. Because falls are such an unknown killer, people disregard the dangers of bathing and overlook safety in the bathroom. The fact is that most bathroom falls would be avoided with something as simple as a grab bar that a person can attach to in case they slip. The stance of everythingbathtubs.com is that every single bathtub and shower should have a grab bar.
